I don't know what to say save for the fact that part of the reason why the newer sketch looks better is because I also spent more time with it. //shot for cheating

Looks great! So much improvement! Especially in their poses, they look so much more natural and organic now... it's wonderful :0)) anatomy and clothing have improved a lot as well!
